No more Sunday Bootcamp (Posted Jan. 24): Apollo Fun Bootcamp continues every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7pm. We lost our instructor on Sundays so that session is no longer offered. Make that New Years resolution finally come true this year and get yourself in shape. Work out with friends in Calgary's only bootcamp for gays and lesbians at one of the best rates in the city.

Welcome to Our New Executive Members (Posted Dec. 19): Over the past few months, we have been actively recruiting for positions on the Apollo Executive and have appointed three individuals to the board – 2 in late September and 1 in late November. Within these individuals we have one individual who has dedicated a significant amount of time and energy to Apollo and now has worked in virtually every position on the executive and we have two individuals that are relatively new to Apollo and bring a breadth of experience from their involvement in other organizations. All of them share a couple of things in common – enthusiasm and energy.

I would like to welcome to the Apollo Executive for 2011/2012:

• Clint Scott – Social Director

Volleyball looking for new Sport Director (Posted Dec. 13): Sunday Volleyball is looking for an individual or individuals interested in taking on the role of Sport Director. The person would be responsible for the organization of this league. If you know anyone that would be interested in taking on this role, please have them contact Craig (pres) or Corey (innercityvball). Currently, there are a couple of individuals that are willing to keep this league going through the winter session; however, there are no commitments from anyone beyond that timeframe for organizing the league.

Message from our new Apollo President (Posted Aug. 5)

On June 22, 2011, Apollo Calgary had its Annual General Meeting and Year-End Social. The evening turned out to be a great success as a large number of Apollo members turned out to elect members to the executive of the board and to celebrate another great year of sports, friendship and fun. At the meeting we saw a number of people, who had served on the board over the past years, officially finished up their terms on the executive. I would like to thank them for their time, enthusiasm and dedication in supporting Apollo Calgary.

As well I would like to thank all individuals, who served over the past year as Sport Directors. Their contributions make so much of what Apollo is possible.

Your new Apollo Executive for 2011/2012 is:

• Craig Lewington – President
• Brad Bostock – Vice-President
• TJ Fedyk – Western Cup Director

At this time, we have a number of positions to fill on the executive and are actively recruiting individuals to fill those roles. If you or someone you know might be interested in one of these positions or in contributing at the board level, please e-mail pres. I look forward to another great year of sports, of celebration and the chance to get out and meet as many of you as I can.

Call for nominations for Jordan Rutherford Award and Volunteer of the Year Award. Nominate deserving individuals by June 8, 2011. Awards will be presented at the Apollo Year Ender and Awards Night.
