Webmaster - Scope Of Responsibility

As Of November 2002

APOLLO SOCIETY BY LAW DEFINITION:

"Position of Web Master will report to Communications Director and will not be a member of the Apollo Board of Directors with a one year term from November 1 to October 31. This position will have full responsibility for web site format. Individual Executive members, Sports Directors, or Activity Coordinators will remain responsible for the content they wish presented.
When the position of Web Master is vacant, the Board of Directors shall appoint two Board of Director members in addition to the Communications Director as a Selection Committee, which will conduct a candidate search. This search will include notice to members of the Society in good standing with an email on file with Secretary requesting names. This Selection Committee will review candidates and submit recommendation to Apollo Board of Directors for approval."

Specific Duties:

Act as the single point of contact for all web related issues.
Act as the single point of contact between the Board Of Directors and the vendor(s) or individuals responsible for hosting and updating the Apollo website.
Responsible for soliciting web sponsors and advertisers, and setting appropriate pricing for such sponsorship and advertising.
Responsible for ensuring all requested updates from the Board Of Directors are posted in a timely and accurate manner by the web hosting vendor (5 business days from receiving such requests).
Drafts and updates content policy for review and approval of the Board Of Directors.
Provides a website backup CD to the Secretary every three months.
Participates on the Communications Committee.
Responsible for managing and updating email alias.
Ensures the Web Vendor is performing all requirements in the "Web Vendor - Scope Of Responsibility" document.

Board Meeting Requirements:

Attends all AGM and Board of Directors meetings.
Provides monthly web site statistics.
Notes any new information discussed at the meetings and posts the information within one week.

Miscellaneous Duties:

Responds to all correspondence in a timely fashion.
Particpates in Apollo activities and social events as much as possible.
Utilizes the Apollo email alias webmaster
Other duties as agreed by the Board Of Directors.
