Apollo Outdoor Pursuits! If it's done outdoors we do it! (and occasionally we venture indoors too). During the summer we mainly hike, mountain bike, camp, and a variety of other summer activities. Winter we don our snowshoes, skis, and take in the occasional ice walk and other adventures. All activities are group oriented and focus on friends (meeting new ones and keeping in touch with existing), having fun, while enjoying the great outdoors.

Tired of playing alone outdoors? Well this is a GREAT opportunity to participate in events you enjoy doing with other interested members of the community.

Outdoor Pursuits GLBT YOUTH Program – NEW!

NEW for 2012!! Outdoor Pursuits recently applied for and received a substantial funding grant specifically for the mounting of the “Apollo Outdoor Pursuits GLBT YOUTH Program”. Outdoor pursuits will be partnering with GLBT Youth organizations as to offer and provide GLBT youth with safe, fun, self-esteem building, outdoor pursuits related group activities. If you’re a GLBT youth, a GLBT youth organization or know GLBT youth who may benefit from these fun youth oriented activities get in touch with Todd - Call or text: 403-922-3530 - Email: outdrpursuits.

Events

Outdoor activities run year round. Please check the Outdoor Pursuits Calendar for a scheduling overview of events and activities. Complete event details on all calendar events are posted on the Apollo Outdoor Pursuits Facebook page. Make sure you “Like” the page so you can join in activities you enjoy by clicking on “Attending” in the event posting. (If you don’t RSVP to Facebook events you may not get time changes, event updates and cancellation notices). Don’t have Facebook then please sign up for outdoor pursuits email notifications (see next section).

A participation waiver must be reviewed and signed if you wish to participate in any event. Waivers will be available at the event meeting location. You can review the waiver by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.

It's free to be added to the email distribution list for Outdoor Pursuits. Most details are sent the week of the activity, to avoid cancelling due to weather.

To be added to the email distribution list of upcoming events, create or update your profile at MyApollo.org.

1. Go to MyApollo.org
2. Click on “continue to this website” (ignore website certificate warning).
3. Enter your contact information. Click on Enter.
4. Enter your user security information. Click on Enter.
5. Click on “My Profile” upper left corner.
6. Check Mark all the Outdoor Pursuits categories you are interested in receiving scheduled event information on.
7. Click on “Update Info”
8. Click on “Logout”

Memberships

Outdoor Pursuits is open to drop in participation as well as annual memberships. If you’re attending activities regularly, a membership is required. See MyApollo.orgmembership information and make sure you sign up for Outdoor Pursuits!
